Fire risk assessments for holiday lets
Fire risk assessments for holiday cottages, flats and guest accommodation across Sussex, so your guests are safe and you're meeting the law.
Holiday lets are covered by fire safety law
If you let a property or rooms to paying guests, the Fire Safety Order applies, even if it's a small cottage, a flat or part of your own home. As the owner or operator, you're the responsible person and must have a written fire risk assessment.
Guests don't know your property
Guests are sleeping in an unfamiliar building and may not know the way out in the dark. Good detection, a clear escape route and simple fire safety information for guests are essential.
Following the government guidance
The government publishes guidance on fire safety in small paying guest accommodation. Our assessments follow it and make sure the measures are proportionate to your property.
